Welcome to Smyth Chapter Fuller Center for Housing!

Smyth County Chapter of Fuller Center for Housing Was formed in late 2007 when the Board of Directors elected to Sever their relationship with Habitat for Humanity Intl and join the newly formed Fuller Center for Housing.

The founder of Habitat for Humanity, Millard Fuller, had been fired from that organization which he had founded some 23 years previous. the firing was over disagreements in the direction the organization should continue to operate, because the Habitat Board of Directors chose to be a more Cooperate oriented organization rather that a Christian based housing ministry, Millard Fuller, after being dismissed chose to start all over using the same biblical based concepts which had made Habitat such a great international housing success, out of the ashes Fuller Center for Housaing was born. It was basically the same reasoning that guided our local Board to follow Millard.,

In January 2008 Smyth County Chapter of Fuller Center for Housing was Incorporated as a Commonwealth of Virginia Corperation operating under the Internal Revenue Code, Sec 501(c)(3) as a tax exempt Christian Housing Ministry.
