Smyth County Chapter of Fuller Center has just completed the 13th annual 5K Fun Run/Walk for 2011.
This event started in 1998 as the major fund raising event for Smyth County Habitat for Humanity. In 2008 we switched the event to Smyth County Chapter of Fuller Center for Housing. While the name changed the mission of the organization remained the same: " To build simple decent housing for low income families/persons living in sub-standard housing" and thus eliminating homelesness and poverty housing, throughout the world, one house at a time,
Thanks to the Sponsors and Participants of our 5k's we have been able to raise in excess of $100,000.00 during those 13 years. All proceeds have been used to purchase building materdials and equiptment to complete 7 homes and start on our 8th home which will give a Hand Up to another deserving Smyth County family.
